Biocontainment Support Services

Our biosafety services encompass the practices, procedures, and use of equipment needed to ensure adequate safety conditions in healthcare facilities. These include clinical and diagnostic laboratories that handle human clinical samples, biological research laboratories, and teaching laboratories.

Primary and secondary critical barriers, including sealed service penetrations, specialized doors, entry and exit avenues to prevent cross-contamination, specialized air flow management systems for contamination control, personal protective equipment (PPE), and biosafety cabinets.

We understand that biohazards are infectious agents or materials that present a potential health risk. The risk can be direct through infection or indirect through the environment. Biohazards include certain types of recombinant DNA; organisms and pathogens infectious to humans, animals, or plants (e.g., parasites, viruses, bacteria, fungi, prions, and rickettsia); and biologically active agents (e.g., toxins, allergens, etc.) that can cause disease in other living organisms or cause significant impact to the environment or community. We reduce the risks associated with biological hazards by:

  • Employing a continuous process of hazard recognition
  • Evaluating and preparing the hazard site, including facility-dedicated standby responders
  • Completing necessary risk assessments
  • Planning implementation
  • Mitigating hazards and incident response, including appropriate biocontainment
  • Managing post-incidents.

Decontamination and Deodorization

Our decontamination services utilize SteraMist to kill air and surface bacteria and bacterial spores, and inactivate viruses, molds, and mold spores. We ensure a safer environment for patients, staff, and visitors by minimizing the occurrence of community acquired infections (CAIs) and healthcare acquired infections (HAIs).

This technology improves indoor air quality, reduces illnesses due to HAIs, and results in higher patient satisfaction. Our fog/mist SteraMist decontamination solutions are safe to use on delicate medical equipment and technology, allowing for faster room turnaround. Our decontamination methods take as little as 7 seconds to kill pathogens and odor-causing organisms, including:

  • Adenovirus type 5
  • Botrytis Sp and Penicillium
  • Candida albicans
  • Coronavirus
  • Ebola virus
  • Hepatitis A
  • Herpes Simplex-2
  • HIV-1
  • Influenza-A virus
  • Klebsiella pneumonia
  • Listeria monocytogenes
  • Methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA)
  • Mycobacterium bovis
  • Norovirus
  • Poliovirus-1
  • Pseudomonas aeruginosa
  • Rhinovirus type 37
  • Rotavirus
  • Staphylococcus aureus
  • Trichophyton mentagrophytes

The pathogens we decontaminate are not limited to the list above. For a full list, please contact us.
